Now Available:  High-Risk and Pediatric Sedation Courses

These courses are designed to meet TSBDE rule 110.16 (High-Risk Patients) and 110.17 (Pediatric Sedation Patients)

These hybrid programs (combining online and lecture) will be conducted with a hands-on. Course prerequisites include: 1) abiding by strict and current guidelines for attending and completing all AESF sedation education programs (no exceptions), and 2) American Heart Association (AHA) ACLS online (for the High-Risk course) or American Heart Association (AHA) PALS online (for the Pediatric Sedation course) and clinical components MUST be current. ONLY practitioners who meet the previous two guidelines AND whose credentials are approved by Dr. Canfield, will be allowed to attend the programs.

WHO WE ARE:  We are licensed and practicing dentists in Texas, and we understand your needs.  The new anesthesia guidelines were recently approved by the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners.  As practicing dental anesthesiologists and educators, we have established continuing education programs to meet these needs.

Dr. Jess Hamilton

Dr. Jess M. Hamilton graduated with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Missouri Kansas City Dental School in 1973.  From 1973 until 1975, he did a Rotating Dental Internship and became a staff dentist at the VA Hospital in Houston, Texas.  He was accepted into the Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston, Texas from 1975-1978.  From 1978 until 2011, he practice in the north Houston area of Kingwood, Texas.  In 2011, he retired from full-time private practice and he moved with his wife, LeeAnn, back to their home state of Missouri.  They now reside with their family at Lake Lotawana, just outside of Kansas City, Missouri.  He is an avid muscle car fan with a lifelong interest in restoring and driving old muscle cars.  Dr. Hamilton is enthusiastic about collaborating with Dr. David Canfield by providing thorough and informative certification seminars for practicing dentists and their office personnel.  His goal is to teach quality and safe care so that practitioners can successfully treat their patients and simultaneously fulfill state guidelines and mandates.
